Different from storage heaters, these radiators can be used day or night and contain fireclay heat plates in the centre of the radiator. Within each fireclay refractory heat plate is a low wattage heating element and when the element heats, it transfers the heat to the fireclay and then in turn to the radiant surface of the radiator. It this makes the SmartCore radiator highly efficient and really controllable.
