In 2015 Greenvision Energy were approached by Boston Mayflower Housing Association to look at replacing the heating system to two of their properties. We carried out surveys and talked with the tenants and housing officers to see what the main problems were with the existing systems, which were old storage heaters running on Economy 7.
The issues highlighted were:
No control over heat output, expensive top up heat used in the evenings, high pre-pay meter charges and condensation and damp issues.
We proposed to overhaul the heating system and install Dimplex Quantum Smart Storage heaters, alongside Dimplex Qrad radiators in the bedrooms and a new Dimplex water heater. Every aspect of the project, from initial survey through to installation and tenant training was managed by Greenvision Energy and was carried out professionally and quickly by our team of experienced installers. We also carried out additional services such as tariff switching and energy saving advice to help the tenants save even more. The Results - Lower bills & improved health and wellbeing
Results For Tenant
The initial reactions from both tenants was encouraging, however to gain a real picture of whether or not the project was a success we returned to the properties after 6 months. Both tenants had found that the Dimplex Quantum system had provided many benefits over the old system, including:
Easy to use units, giving much greater level of heat control, Lower energy bills (with one tenant saving in the region of 30%), increased standard of living, Improved health and wellbeing, and stylish heaters to compliment décor.
Results For Boston Mayflower
The benefits to Boston Mayflower also include a higher level of tenant sustainability, increased SAP ratings across the board (the Quantum system is BRE approved) and reduction of moisture damage/damp to the properties.
